Website design & development

Custom websites, designed and built around how your business sells.

Gradual Holdings designs and develops custom business websites for companies in Toronto, the GTA and across Canada. We handle the whole build: structure, design, development, forms and integrations, domain setup and launch. The aim is a website that explains what you do clearly, earns trust quickly and turns interest into enquiries.

When a custom website makes sense

  • You are launching a business or a new service and need a website people will trust.
  • Your current website looks acceptable but does not explain what you do, or does not produce enquiries.
  • You have outgrown a template and the site now works against you rather than for you.
  • Enquiries need to reach a CRM, a calendar or the right person automatically, not sit in an inbox.
  • The business has changed and the website still describes the old one.

If a simple site from a website builder would do the job, we will say so. Website builder vs custom website sets out how to make that decision.

What we build

Company websites
Multi-page websites that explain what the business does, who it serves and why it can be trusted, structured so visitors find the page that answers their question.
Landing pages
Landing page development for one offer, service or campaign: focused pages built to load quickly and lead to one clear next step.
Website redesigns
Rebuilding an existing site while keeping what already works: content that ranks, links people use and the structure your customers know.
Service business websites
Sites for firms that sell expertise or appointments, where the pages need to answer the questions a buyer asks before getting in touch.
Lead flow
Forms and enquiry paths that ask for the right information and deliver it somewhere useful, such as a CRM or a booking calendar.

How a website project works

  1. 01Understand. We learn what the business sells, who buys it and how they decide, and take stock of what already exists: content, brand, domain and tools.
  2. 02Design. We define the page structure, the key messages and the visual direction before any complexity is built in.
  3. 03Build. We develop the site responsively, connect forms, analytics and any integrations, and check performance and accessibility as we go.
  4. 04Launch. We test on real devices, deploy the site, connect the production domain and, for redesigns, redirect old addresses so existing links keep working. Then we confirm who looks after what from there.

What a launch-ready website includes

  • A responsive layout that works properly on phones, tablets and desktops.
  • Fast loading, with images and video sized and compressed for the web.
  • Accessibility basics: clear headings, labelled forms, keyboard access and readable contrast.
  • Search basics: unique page titles and descriptions, a sitemap and structured data that describes the business accurately.
  • Forms that deliver enquiries to a person or a system, with spam protection.
  • Analytics, HTTPS and the production domain connected before launch.

Ownership and responsibilities

You own your domain, your brand, your content, your customer data and the finished website once it is paid for. Gradual may manage hosting, deployment and the technical infrastructure on your behalf.

Where a site relies on third-party services, such as software subscriptions, licensed fonts or images, or external APIs, those remain subject to their own terms. Ownership, hosting, data handling and ongoing maintenance are agreed before the build begins, so both sides know what Gradual manages and what remains with the client.

Connected to the rest of the business

A website is usually where a customer relationship starts, so it should connect to what happens next. We can send form submissions into your CRM, offer booking through your calendar and trigger a confirmation email, as part of our connected systems work. How a website should connect to a CRM explains what that involves.

Where it helps, an AI integration can read each enquiry, summarize the request and route it to the right person for review.

What affects cost and timeline

Cost and timeline depend on the number and type of pages, whether the copy and photography already exist, how much custom design is needed, which integrations are involved and what the launch requires. A focused landing page is a much smaller project than a multi-page site connected to a CRM and a booking system. How much a custom business website costs goes through each factor.

Questions

Common questions about website design & development

Are scope and cost agreed before work starts?

Scope, cost and timeline are agreed in writing before work begins. Cost depends on the number of pages, whether content is ready, how much custom design is needed and which integrations are involved.

How long does a website take to build?

A single landing page is a short project. A multi-page company website with integrations takes longer, mostly because of content, review rounds and testing. We give a timeline once the scope is clear, and the biggest variable is usually how quickly content and feedback are available.

Who owns the final website?

You do. Clients own their domain, brand, content, customer data and the finished website once it is paid for. Third-party software, licensed assets and subscriptions used by the site remain subject to their own terms.

Who owns the domain?

Your business does. We can connect the domain, configure DNS and handle the technical setup, but the domain stays yours.

Can Gradual manage hosting?

Yes, if you want us to. We can manage hosting, deployment and the technical infrastructure on your behalf, or work with hosting you already have. Ownership, hosting, data handling and ongoing maintenance are agreed before the build begins, so both sides know what Gradual manages and what remains with the client.

Can you redesign our existing website?

Yes. We review what the current site does well, keep content and addresses that already bring in visitors, rebuild the rest and set up redirects so old links still work after launch.

Can the website connect to our CRM, scheduling, forms, email and analytics?

Yes. Forms can create or update CRM records, booking can run through your scheduling tool, confirmations and notifications can go out by email, and analytics can show which pages produce enquiries. See connected systems.

Do you handle deployment and launch?

Yes. We test the site, deploy it and connect the production domain so it is ready for real customers.

What happens after the website launches?

We check that forms, analytics and integrations work with real traffic and fix anything that comes up. After that, updates, changes and maintenance follow what was agreed before the build began, whether Gradual looks after them or your team does.

Do you work with businesses outside Toronto?

Yes. Gradual Holdings is based in Toronto and works with businesses across the GTA and Canada. Work outside the Toronto area is done remotely.
